MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Track day - Saturday 9th March
If anyone is interested, the SEAT drivers club is holding a Track day at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground (Where Top Gear do alot of testing) on Saturday 9th March. We have opened it up to MG onwers partly cos I am still an MG fan and will be taking my MG Montego Estate rather than the SEAT Leon. We will be holding a PS2 (Play Station 2) competition through out the day, where someone will be able to win it on the day. We will also be holding 0-60 and 1/4 mile runs using Satalite testing equipment. The day starts at about 9:30, and well will continue to run groups of 20 cars (max 100 cars on the day) every 15 minutes. finish time is about 18:00. It will be strictly run, as is all SEAT drivers club track days, and should be huge fun, especially as its only £50 for the day!!!!!!!! If you want more information please E-mail me at neil.turner@hds.com (with "SEAT track day" in the subject), and I will e-mail an application form with full details. Limited numbers..... This venue is the same as the one ran for MGF and FWD register members last Summer. |

Neil, does £50 include insurance cover? and how many runs/laps are allowed per car? rob |

Rob £50 insurance - your having a larff! No onw will insure for Track Days with that sort of premium. £50 itself is VERY cheap just for the track time! Rock |

any idea who does insurance (my policy excludes this) and how much it would cost? |

Try Egger Lawson, they do competition car insurance for hillclimbs and sprints at £50 per £5000. Track days should be cheaper. However I would add that I've never met anyone who insures for this sort of thing - you simply drive within your own capabilities, avoid the odd idiot and if in doubt - back off. |

Insurance Quotes that SEAT guys have been getting are about £45-£60 for the day. As previously stated, there will be groups of 20 (max 5 groups) going out for 15mins, so you will get a 15 min run every hour or so. Say starts at 9:30ish, ending at 18:00. E-mail me if your interested, then you'll get more info:-) neil.turner@hds.com |
