MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - TYRE TEST
So the ZT260 managed to lunch the Nankangs. That last track day did them in, good style! I have ordered a set of 245/40R18 Avons ZZ3s for the rears. Let's see how long they last and if they are any good. The Nankangs were actually VERY good, delivered good grip and being a bit harder than the original Contis stood up to the usual abuse for a good deal longer. I would recommend them to anybody. They were good in the wet too but now they're resembling a set of Schumey's intermediates. And the last trip down the M40 was a bit leery in the pouring rain. The Avons are a bit more money. so we will see... If they are rubbish don't worry the rooster can devour a set of rear tyres VERY quickly if provoked. Producing a nice rooster tail of white smoke |

I reckon my zt260 needs a new set of tyres after 8000 miles. These are continentals, how many miles will i get from nankangs do you reckon? where can i buy them? Thanks, Ted |

Thanks Neil, I'll try to burn the last of the tread off over xmas and get the beast fitted out with these nankangs. Will report back in a month!! ted |

Avons even bigger and only just fit rims cracking deal @ £75 each so let's see if they last! |

Couldn't believe it when rear Conti's went down to 1.6mm before the fronts. (ZT160+) Might try Nankangs next time. |
