| Yes the 2003 models have a thatcham cat 1 system fitted now. |

| 2003 model year changes includes a kit of parts to shield locks and sensitive electrical items. The replacment battery tray that incorporates a complete steel cover for the engine managment ECU is the most obvious. There are other changes including software changes to eliminate certain vulnerable electrical items which I will not expand on further. Rog |

Tour dealer modify in 30 mins, this is a sofware change, as mentioned above by Roger. |

| Kelvin, Mine is a May 02 version, the dealer has just fixed alarm, but is not aware of an upgrade. If anyone can give specific information to point the dealer in right direction, then I would be most grateful. Thanks Paul |

| Paul depending on what he did, that may be 'the upgrade'. Your dealer will have used data from a CD ROM to re-program part of the alarm system. I think a lot of people will get theirs done when it goes for service, the dealers will just do it! Kelvin |

| I think that the question here is will the additional modifications be done under the warranty, i.e. the ECU and lock shielding, etc.? Ralph |

| No will be the answer! You could buy the bits maybe, but its not a warranty issue!! Model specs are continually being changed, you cannot expect your car to upgraded to new spec everytime something is changed!! Kelvin |

| So in summary, Software update to fix the known bug is warranty and the upgrade, i.e. shielding etc is an optional purchase if you want to improve things further to Thatcham class 1 specs. I really think there should have been a notification / recall sent to owners of the affected vehicle tho'. |

| mb, recalls are only done on safety issues, not security issues... |

| David, even just a letter to owners of the effected vehicle informing them of the possible floor in the system, so that they don't become a victim of some scumbag. P.S. My dealer when asked after a recent service had no knowledge of the issue and hence mine was not checked. Still issues with communication that MGR need to address, god forbid if ever there is a safety issue :( |

| Kelvin, The alarm developed a fault, went off every 10mins, but when repaired 1) They thought about charging for resetting radio 2) No mention of upgrade software 3) No idea about boot problem. Trying to sort out what can be done before first service. Paul |
