MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - ZT-T 160+ Price consensus
Hi, Selling my ZT-T and want to check on the going rate. There are very few ZT-T's on Autotrader, making pitching the price a tad difficult. Nissan dealer has offered £8100 px on an almost new X-Trail. It's a 52-reg (December 02) 160+ with 31k on the clock. Good condition and everything works. What's a decent price? |

Is that 160 1.8T or V6? I was told that my June 02 ZT 160+ (v6) was book £8k with 60k miles. Of course, the chap was trying to sell me another ZT, but I passed on the kind offer :~) The 1.8T may be more attractive than the 2.5V6 as it is more economical and slightly lighter/quicker. Martin |

Sorry, yes it's the 1.8 turbo version. Must admit to being impressed with it the whole time I've had it - came from an Audi A4 Cabriolet 2.4 V6 and have not missed the engine at all, which surprised me. Of course, if anyone wants to buy it, I'm negotiable! Cheers. |

OK, have just updated the Classifieds on this site. Now prepared to accept £8750 for this motor . .. If you know anyone interested, please pass this on. Thanks! |

If the 1.8T engine is so much praised, why the hell did they not fit it to the ZS as many of us were asking? |

Tony I think the ZT got the 1.8T simply to lure the company car buyer. The ZT120 was never going to steal sales, so the 1.8T offered 160 levels of performance without the crippling tax on emissions and the heavier fuel economy of the V6 that would be off-putting to fleet buyers/company car owners. I assume that the ZS is not as likely to be on the commercial lists, and with the lighter shell the 1.8 ZS120 will hold its own against a ZT160, so presumably MG R didn't see justification in offering the ZS as a turbo?
