MG MGA - A diffenet turn indicator problem
Seeking advice since my green turn indicator lamp on the dash glows on at all times, flashes when the indicator switch is rotated. Likely something simple but what? Thanks |

Bad earth is my guess, run a good earth to it. Best Alan |

I may be wrong but would have thought if the bulb had a bad earth, it wouldn’t come on at all. The power reaches the flasher unit, and from there goes separately to both the switch and the warning light. So I would have thought it could well be the flasher unit. Can you beg or borrow a similar one from someone else’s car to check? |

I think its your flasher unit. Probably an internal short circuit between the power feed and the contact going to the warning lamp. The flasher unit internally has two sets of contacts, one for the lights and one for the dash tell tale. When the flasher unit is operating it is probably pulling enough current to dim the dash lamp in time with the indicators so it looks to be working normally. Malcolm |

Thanks. Will try changing the flasher. |

Before you try a new flasher, is the dash light connected to the P terminal on the flasher? |
