MG MGA - Air duct sheet metal

Hey all, the adventure continues....are the sheet metal air ducts, under the dashboard, left and right "handed? Are they held in place with sheet metal screws from the top? Thanks, Tom

Yes they are handed.I think the screws that hold the vent grills on the dash top go through to hold the air ducts in place.

Okay, how do we know the left from the right? Tom

the round duct openings point toward the firewall. the skinny long opening should then match the curve of the dash scuttle. try them both ways, and you'll catch on quick to which is which...not a lot of difference, but enough.

Thomas, depends whether you have a matrix in your heater box or not! If you have, they should point at the screen (to demist/defrost it!) If you don't have a heater matrix then you can point them the other way to blow fresh air in your face!

which way were they fitted when there was no heater?
