MG MGA - air ducts
Are the two air ducts in front of the radiator really necessary? I can see the need for the one leading to the heater intake, but not the others. What am I missing? |

Art, the right hand duct pipe is just for a short pipe feeding cooler air to the carbs. It helps to reduce (but doesnt prevent) fuel vaporisation in the carbs. So it is worth fitting one. Colyn |

Colin, the RH duct is on the heater side. (Looking fwd). You mean the LH one? That would bring undiluted cold air to the carb. OK. |

Sorry Art I was looking at the car from the front, yes the left side one is for the carbs. Hope that helps Colyn |

Probably more important is that the ducting stops ram air from taking the route through the cut out in the radiator mounting panel rather than going through, and cooling, the radiator. |

Good point Colin! |
