MG MGA - Aluminium side screens clips

As my side screens blow out over 50mph I decided to use a clip on the inside face to wrap around the windscreen frame. Bought a pair from Todd Clarke, which were supplied with 4 very small screws - needed as I have a hood. I am unsure whether these would be adequate.

Advice on alternatives would be helpful.

Thanks

Highly recommend TC's clips. They will do the job. A true and effective reproduction of the original.

Hi John
I bought clips and rivets from NTG, but have not fitted them to my Aluminium side screens as they were intended to fit the cloth covered screeens, which I have to recover. I have also resisted putting the hood and side screens on so far. I have also purchased parts from Todd Clarke whose parts are good quality and accurate fit.

Thanks guys.
However it isn't the clips that concern me.It is the very small screws that Todd supplied that I'm unsure about. I have a feeling they would pull out with any pressure on the clips.
Yet again, any thoughts.

John,

I obtained a set of the side screen clips from Todd. Included with the clips were 4 steel pop rivets (1/8th inch diameter by 1/4 inch length). No screws included.
The clips are a great addition - no more 60 mph air scoop from the side screen leading edge!
The pop rivets are solidly holding all in place after 3000 miles. My screen frames are the aluminium type.

Hope this helps.

Hi John

Maybe Todd has changed his thoughts on fixings.

The screws he provided are self tapping countersunk headed 3/16 x 1/4ins - as best as my old eyes can judge!

He also provided two pop rivets 1/8 x 1 1/4ins, which Todd advised should be used with the vinyl covered sidescreens.

All came in a sealed plastic envelope!

I might give Bob West a call to see what he thinks would be best.

Many thanks

John
