MG MGA - Anyone driven the Outer Banks NC in their A?
We're planning a trip from Long Island NY to Beaufort, SC this fall (late Sept or early October) in our MGA, with a leg out across the Outer Banks. Has anyone done that and if so, what recommendations do you have? - Ken |

Ken, If you don't already know, next year's GT (38) is going to be in NC. OK, I know that doesn't help you, but sounds like you'll be able to help us when we go next year! Gerry PS: GT37 was Fabulous! |

Hey Pete and Gerry - sorry but Dayton wasn't in the cards this year. Congrats to Pete on the trophy for best Coupe. That is great that GT-38 will be in NC. Is that in addition to the regional in Savannah in April 2013? - Ken |

Ken, Yes, Savannah regional in mid April and GT38 in Asheville NC in mid June. Get em cranked up! See you at WG in September? Gerry PS: Recently acquired a 72B from Charlottle NC. Perfect rust free, OD car with a gazillion new parts (top, interior, tires, etc). |

Pete Cerka...can you please email me, as I need some Air Con info. I was at GT-37, but didn't have time to meet for a chat. ..email: lock@winshop.com.au |

Gerry - we will be at The Glen again this year. Hope to see you there! Good luck with the B. Where in NC did you get it? - Ken |

Ken, The car came from Jerry Rhyne's Collision Repair in Charlotte NC. Here's link to their web site: http://jerryrhynescollision.com/ Someone had them re-do the car and then didn't have the money to pay for it. A friend of mine heard about it and knew I was looking for one. They just wanted to get rid of it. I got it for $2800, including shipping to my house. The shop just kind of tossed it together...all the missing stuff is in boxes. See you at the Glen, Gerry PS: Guess this is waaaay off topic..:) ![]() |

Ken, I traveled along the Outer Banks by motorcycle with family about 10 years ago. We dropped down at Kitty Hawk and took Hwy 12 through Nags Head and all along the Outer Banks ending up at Ocracoke Island. It seems like back then from the outer banks to Ocracoke there is a free ferry that runs several times a day but when we left we opted to take I believe it was the Cedar Island Ocracoke Ferry over to a different part of the coast which was about a 3 hr. trip. I am pretty sure you have to make reservations for the coastal ferry. If you make the trip make sure to visit the Hatteras lighthouse which was moved several yards from its original position due to erosion; at that time you could climb to the top but later it was closed due to corrision of the metal walkway, but that may have been restored by now. Hope you are able to make the trip, we had an awesome time! I plan to make the same trip again when I get my TD restored. Regards, Rich |

Rich - thanks for the heads-up about the ferry and the tip about the lighthouse. Just heard the will be a NAMGAR Regional next April so we might wait and combine the two and avoid any chance of Hurricanes. Then again my wife is fearless and wants to go this year! |

Ken, You should contact John Terschak. He lives in Kill Debil Hills, NC which is part of the Outer Banks. You can find his contact info on the MG Experience website. Jim |

Ken, any action on your house? How long will you guys be in Beaufort? Maybe we can get together and pop a few corks! We will be back in Aiken Labor Day weekend and no travel plans until late October. Don |
