MG MGA - are these used on coupe doors?
Are these used on coupe doors behind the doorcards somehow? Thanks, George ![]() |

They are the steel backing plates that the pleated vinyl goes onto that is then fixed to the main door card - one of the reasons why the coupe doors are so heavy! |

Thanks J H. Sounds like you might be familar with these. Is there an easy way to describe how the vinyl is attached to them, and how that assembly is fixed to the door card? Very much appreciated, George |

Its been about 10 years since I did mine so grey cells a little shaky but I think the pleated vinyl wraps over the back of the steel plate and is stuck on followed by the piping that is also stuck on. The steel tabs then get pushed through prepared slit in the door card and are tightly bent over. |

That makes sense, thanks! Almost ready to do the interior. BTW, I believe these were NOS I purchased from CSR several years ago, I don't think there are repro's being made. George |

I recently sent photos of my original door components to Barney. I presume he has them on a page somewhere on his site. Mark |
