MG MGA - Aussie MG SA Peking to Paris
While not actually MGA related this is a great MG story. Local club members Rhys Timms and John Hastie are currently tackling the Peking to Paris Rally in their 1936 MG SA. Have a look at their great website and daily blog that plots their progress http://mgsa36.com.au/mgsa36/ I love their list of road songs for the trip http://mgsa36.com.au/mgsa36/top-10-road-trip-songs/ Surely this trip in an MGA is one for the "bucket list"! I'm sure that Dave (Travel anywhere in the World) Godwin has this earmarked for one of his future trips! |

Harry Hickling (and his wife), a dedicated Australian MG enthusiast (based in Canberra), has previously competed in the Peking to Paris in his DHC SA. I think that he has written a book about it. I understood that he was preparing to do so again but perhaps not so. |

Hickings are in, so MG is represented by 2 SA & de Sousa's ZA. And a lot of other wonderful things! http://www.pekingparis.com/ FRM |

Dave Godwin and his mates already drove the 11,000 miles from Beijing to MG in China then all the way to Abingdon where their MG's were built and finally on to Longbridge where MGs are made now. I met them at Portsmouth Docks when they landed here on the 16th July and welcomed them to England. Keep up Gary! Check out Dave's blog - a good read... http://www.goldcoastmgcarclub.com.au/nanjing_longbridge_home_white.html Pete |

Pete, we all know about Daves trip, but the P to P is more than a touring drive..a test of machine and mind. |
