Sorry Mark, but I forgot to take the camera! There were plenty of others present so it won't take long for them to post. Barry |

Hi thanks for the grear pics, one question, why do so many of the A's have their overiders on upside down, is it something to do with being "down under", I know the bath water goes the opposite way down the plug hole lol Gordon |

John, I was in the midst of the MGA division all day. Drove my old every-day-driver down from Melbourne. Nirvana! I was happy to be with Ken Wilson who entered my former 1st. placed red Mk11 in the Concours. Ken and Ellen Wilson trailered the Mk11 all the way from Perth, 3,500km across the Nullabour Plain. That is dedication! They managed a very creditable second place in the roadster division. Barry ![]() |

Mark, The A roadster concours winner was a Deluxe. http://www.mgccgeelong.com.au/PICTURES/slides/CONCOURSE%20(244).html Mike |

Hi all, as one of the judges in the MGA class I was red faced when my partner Jeanette, as a 'learner' was the only one to pick the 'upside down' over riders. The deluxe was a 'clear' winner but if some had there tops and sidescreens on they might have faired better. (M.E.) The meeting was fabulous, the weather ditto, we drove our TC over 1000 miles there and back without a hickup. Regards Don Walker |

Hi Don, would love to pick holes in the winning "tool kit" any photos lol Gordon |

Don, My "no top and sidescreens" was a silent protest to the way a roadster should be driven - top down! It was a great meeting - I also committed the same judging error - the Twin Cam we picked for the winner had the overriders upside down - maybe that is the way it should be down under! Any way we will be the wiser next year. Regards Mike |

I agree on the top down Mike, my TC was entered in the concours with top down and brookland screens on, as it is mostly driven, only to be told it wouldn't be judged, OK, top up, but we left the screens at the motel, not judged, but we got a point for the club. My Twin Cam hasn't got a top at present. I have told Allan Semmler, Twin Cam winner, of his over rider error, he didn't know they were upside down. Regards, Don |

Hi perhaps I should have kept quiet Gordon |

Hi again, I wonder if when they began building the A's whether someone at the factory made a mistake and put them on with the large bit to the top and by the time they realised the mistake it was too late and decided to leave them, because most other cars have the overiders with the large bit on the bottom and even on the A it almost looks better gordon |

I agree with you Gordon, I put mine on the twin cam with the 'pointy' end up, it wasn't until I looked at factory photo I realised my mistake, or as you say, maybe a factory mistake. The odd part about living 'down under' is when I tried to reverse the polarity of my TC, I turned the light switch on and they shone black! Regards Don in Sunny Autumnal Adelaide Hills Sth.
