MG MGA - B pillar

Does anyone have the vertical length of the flange on the back portion of the B pillar? This is the straight part of the assembly that attaches to the car.

Not an easy thing to measure.... I made a thin card strip to pass through the gussets.
I have 15-9/16"
That is from the top of the B pillar down to the top of the flange on the outer sill.

Art:

I have it at 16" measured on my car which is pretty rusty in this area. The top of the sill that it sits on seems to be missing at the moment. So we are within 3/16" of each other.

I was hoping someone with a shiny new, yet to be installed B pillar might respond.

John, I measured it from my reconstructed pillar, so maybe yours is a better reference if it is only rusty but still intact. My reference point was the new inner sill, measured down from the rear mounting point, and fettling everything from there!

JRS, It might be worth your while looking at the very useful drawing of the inner sill in relation to the A & B pillars on page 52 of Malcolm Green's 'Restoration Guide'.

He gives 16.375" as the measurement from the top of the B- pillar to the top of the inner sill..................Mike

I've got a copy of that book - thanks for confirming the measurement.
