MG MGA - Back from paint shop!

Got the car back from the paint shop, getting closer to being finished!
I can't load an image, the file is too large. How do I reduce the file size?

Trying again...

It's a shame that we have to add tail lights and a rear bumper. What beautiful lines the way she looks now!

How soon before you have it on the road?
Don Carlberg

Hope to have it back on the road next year at this time. I don't have a heated garage so I can't do much now. But everything is done...motor, trans, chassis, have a new wiring harness, all bits rebuilt or new. Need to get the original grille and a few of the other parts rechromed now. Its just that I'm so finicky about things, that could slow me down a little!
G Goeppner

Oh George..... Nice! Congrats.
Chuck Schaefer

Nice George! Can't wait until we see you out driving in it!
Kim Tonry

No matter how I tried when I had a Coupe, I never ever managed to get my coupe windows as clean as you have yours George! :-)

Love your car, it looks just perfect George.

Keep sending us pics of how it goes.

Cheers

Looks great - have fun putting the interior back - and even more fun next year driving it.
Cam Cunningham

George,
The car looks great...you really are getting ahead of me! Of course, you didn't drive an MG to California this year either!:)
One comment though. I'm a bit surprized at how high it seems to sit above the rear wheels. Do those springs have the correct arch?
Cheers,
Gerry

Hi Gerry. Yeah, I'm a little bothered with the height of the rear too. The springs are new, and I had them re-arched (arc decreased) to the dimension discussed on this BBS at the time, with input from Barney. The spring shop got it spot on, but I'm not sure if its right. I can't attach the rebound straps (not a good sign) but the motor/trans, gas tank, interior, etc are yet to be installed. If necessary, I'll pull the springs off (should be easy this time) and decrease the arc some more. Some things you gotta do 2 or 3 times, like my headliner. Like you say, AAARRRGGGHHH!!
(Did I get that right?!)

G Goeppner

In my experience the springs (especially leaf springs) can "settle" after installation/use. If you can, pull the body down to attach the rebound straps (which are designed to withstand the tension) and after a bit of time/use all may be well.
Barry Bahnisch

George, Mine are also arched too high..MOSS MOTORS????
John Gordon

It's sitting high now but there is still a lot of weight to be added.
N McGurk

George,
Try putting a couple bags of sand in the boot, loosen the bolts and see if it will settle.
Cheers,

I think if you put some weight on it (a couple of sumo wrestlers should do it) and attach the rebound straps, you'll probably be fine.
