MG MGA - Bardiman Grey
hi MGA owners, if someone could help me, i am ready to paint my A but i cannot find the original paint colour. I have tried most major auto paint suppliers, eg., PPG, Motorspray, etc, but cannot find a match, although they have the name of the colour...Bardiman Grey. Even the code is correct 02338. PPG mixed a sample for me and it turned a light peppermint colour. I believe the colour is a dark shade of white? regards, andrew. |

Bardiman Grey was a CKD MGA colour for cars made in Australia. Did you try the formula attached? Note the colour code is different from what you quote. It is a distinctive grey, not a dark white. Mick ![]() |

Always difficult to tell colours from photographs and also whether or not it is correct anyway, but here is a picture. http://mga.mgcc.info/MGA%20REGISTER/Forms/63262.html Looks very nice IMHO! |

Do not know much about Bardiman (Bardman?) Grey but late Australian MGA 1600's were painted Katoomba Grey (I had one once), a sort of mid-grey which I thought looked very plain! I think that the off-white (in Australian parlance Nurburg White) looks good on roadsters. |

That car listed as Bardiman Grey is certainly a very light colour. Is it correct? Mick ![]() |

Thanks MIck. I would like to see what the colour looks like. I saw one for sale on eBay a few months ago and it was white, but not a bright white like the photo attached earlier. The eBay 'A' made the red trim stand out. I actually liked the colour. This formula is not reconsider by eg, PPG Anyhow, Greg is searching for me. Regards, Andrew. |
