MG MGA - Bent suspension parts
Left hand lower wishbone trunnion and arm. Oddly enough, this was the opposite size from the front shock that was installed with oversize studs in the frame. I suppose this does not bode well for the condition of the king pins, either. I have parts from a parts car that may be usable, but if they are not, I was wondering how is the quality of the reproduction trunnions currently available?![]() |

Opposite SIDE from the oversize shock mount studs, I meant. |

Del You have got to stop taking your MGA off road on your hunting trips. |

Del, I am curious about how that got bent. Regards, Gerry |

Likewise. There should be more or less no force on the fulcrum. Whatever bent it had to have acted through the end of the A-arm, so how does that bit look? |

I know *I* didn't do it, so it was most likely my dad, or my cousin who drove it quite a bit during the 1980s. Either that, or it dates back to the car's racing days in the first 4 years of its life before dad bought it, and has been there all along. You should be able to see the slight bend in the A-arm in the picture; the other one didn't appear to be bent like that. Both arms from the other side had elongated holes for the lower outer pivot. I've got 2 new fronts from my sway bar kit, so out of the 4 from the parts car, hopefully I will be able to find the 2 good ones that I need. |
