MG MGA - bullet connectors

Is there a trick, or a tool, to help in the assembly of the wiring harness bullet connectors? I have a new harness and am having a hard time getting the bullet end plugged in. I have some arthritis in my hands which I think may be part of my problem. Any ideas?

Thanks!
George G.

This is the tool...

Moss has a whole kit with the tool and connectors. It's not cheap, but it's a first class tool, and worth the money.

I put the bullet connectors in a vice. Heated them with a propane torch and melted solder in filling the connector. Dropped the wire into the molten solder and held until it cooled. Worked fine for me. There is a tiny little hole at the bottom of the connector and some solder my get through it. Just file away the little gets out.
Cheers.

That tool only gets the bullet partially seated. A pair of needle nose pliers will seat the bullet the rest of the way in. Cheers - Dave

I also add a dab of dielectric grease to these fittings when assembling - means you will be able to get undone later!

If you use the tool correctly, it pushes the bullets into the metal tube until the tool is squashing the rubber sleeve and stopped by the metal tube. There is no need to use anything else to push the bullets any further inside the tube, they are held in place just fine.

The tool is much better than trying to seat bullets with pliers, screwdrivers or anything else.

Thanks to all. I purchased the tool from Moss, and used as described by Dominic, it makes this job easy.

As mentioned, if the tool is used correctly, and with the correct size bullet for the correct wire (there are three sizes), it works great....The tool crimps the bullet, all the way around, onto the wire....The Moss kit also comes with a little tool that pulls both bullets into the sleeve at the same time, and seats them all the way in....
It actually makes the assembly "fun".
Anyway that has been my experience with it.
