MG MGA - Car Cover
Well I have my chassis and body back together and now I need a car cover to protect this nice new paint. The car is always garaged, yet that doesn't stop the occasional bird getting in and making a home in my ridge vent or soffits. What kind of covers do you folks use? I was looking at a couple from the usual british parts dealers, but wondered if something off eBay or from the local auto parts store would work fine and probably be cheaper. One thing I don't want to do is skimp on a cover after the $$$ invested in paint. I want it protected. I was looking at this one: http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=58872 But also item 260170220059 on eBay Big difference in price and so before I just jumped in and bought something I thought I'd ask you folks what you use on your cars? Thanks, Christopher |

Christopher , I got a cheap one off Ebay. It is just for dust and such indoor protection not moisture. It is very light material and fits very poorly but does ok for what I want. It has not damaged the paint. A big bed sheet would probably work as well. I think Walmart sells the same thing for about the same price. |

i bought an airchamber cover which has done everything it claimed to do, keeps the car clean and dry and condensation free. it even dried the car overnight after i put it away after driving in the rain which surprised me. i wish mine had a zipped entrance at each end and each side so that i could work on the car easier. also the plastic floor material isnt as petrol proof as advertised as when my full fuel tank almost emptied itsself inside the chamber,it has left the plastic kind of wrinkled. fortunately i didnt switch on the fluorescent lights for some reason that day! colyn |

I use a Dustop (inside only) from Car Cover World in Delaware - purpose made for MGA roadster - 3 years old, no problems. Mike |

I've also used Dustop for many years. Its soft, light, and easily slides on and off. |

Thanks for all the comments fellas. Still haven't made up my mind but I've checked out the Dustop. I'm going to have to call them though as they don't show the MGA listed in their catalog. Thanks for the kind words Jerry. I'm staring the wiring now. Thanks, Christopher |

Chris: The cheaper car covers will scratch your new $$$ paint job if there's ANY dust, etc on the car during application / removal....been there done that. Best solution I've found was to ask the wife to sew together two old flannel bed sheets, queen size works best, soft, light, very easy to put on and remove. Matt |

If it's always kept indoors, then you can buy a flannel cover. They are very soft and safe on paint. I have a couple of them for indoor use. Mine came from Moss. |
