MG MGA - Car museums in Sidney.

We are spending a few days in Sidney, Australia. Before we arrived I check for car museums but came up empty. Is there any car museum's near the inner city? Of course I would like the car museum to feature sport cars.

Thanks Ray

Are you searching for Sidney or Sydney?

Try this one...

Or the Sydney Motor World museum, a bit more central...

Of course it should be Sydney. My apologies.
I will check out your suggestions.

A pity you are not coming 1000 kms south to Melbourne where all the good stuff is cars, coffee etc

Sydney motor museum in Harris St Ultimo is well worth a look--some interesting stuff in there but not really sports cars, more motoring history type of displays
I used to live in Harris St years ago and the museum at that stage was run by the university, but I don't know if it's still run by them now
It's within easy walking distance from the Central railway station (Central Rail)
Worth a look

Hi Mike
I visit my son and his family every year in Melbourne, but was unaware of car museums, etc. Where do you recommend?

Elfin Heritage Centre -- It's got to be on top of your list

Hi Ray and Graham,
The main car museum in Melbourne is the Fox Collection
http://www.foxcollection.org.au/
and for the purists there is the Elfin Heritage Centre
http://www.elfinheritage.com.au/
There are also several private car museum that we maybe able to get you into if we have prior notice.
A pity you weren't here last weekend as the biggest classic car show in Australia was on at the Royal Exhibition Building (a treasure in its own rite!).

Thanks for all the suggestions. We will be visiting the Sydney Motor world Museum today.
I got to say, we have had a terrific time in Sydney this past week. So much to see: Circular Quay, The Rocks, Darling Harbor, Toronga Zoo, Bondi Beach and then the walk along the shoreline to Bronte beach.
Sad to say tomorrow brings a long flight to Honolulu, then on to Seattle.

Thanks for the info. Dont have our next Melbourne trip booked yet, but we go every year, so will look forward to visiting them

Completely off topic apart from that I'm Australian.

I was in LA last year and went to the Nethercutt Collection. It was astonishing, and I only got to see one half of it.
