MG MGA - Carb. Return Spring Bracket

Can someone tell me how the return spring bracket is attached? I can't seem to locate any diagrams detailed enough to figure this out. It just not clear to me as I try to see where it goes.

Thanks in advance....

Gary, it goes on the left carb mounting bolt of the rear carb (see photo)

You may have to grind some off of the "leg" on the left of the bracket to get a proper alignment of the spring.

GARY,Are the large holes on the brass arms oval or round? John
John Gordon

John,

They are round.... I have two sets of carbs to use parts from to make one good set. I believe the oval holes are due to wear from having the chock cable too tight or the lower 'l' shape connection bar wearing the hole oval....

I think I use the right ones????

Don't think it is supposed to be oval, but it does need to be a very loose fit to the pin. Mine were elongated so I filled them in with brass and drilled them just to fit the pin. Had to drill them oversize to get the choke to work properly.
