MG MGA - coupe part needed (or not?)

Plate R.14 of the Service Parts List shows a "washer-seating" used on the coupe door handle, on the inside of the door I think. My car does not have one of these, but it had been taken apart at some time by a PO during a poor restoration, and other parts are missing.
Does the coupe door use these seating washers behind the door handle, and does anyone have a set they could part with (any condition)?

Not sure which part you are speacking of.My coupe has the normal estucheon and spring on the inside door handle but I see no washer. As I do not have a parts book is there any chance of a picture. Gordon

when I started to assemble the doors on my coupe I was also looking for this part (#25), it was not at one of the 4 doors I had and none of the suppliers had it or knew of it so I think it was never existent.
What I did made was a thin black rubber gasket to put it under the handle placed outside the doorskin. Don't think that a seating washer - what ever this would be - is needed.
Remember the door handle is the very first part for assembly.

Hi Siggi, thanks for your comment. I thought this might be another error in the Parts List, your experience seems to confirm that.
Sorry Gordon, I'm not able to post a pic. From the illustration, the part has the shape of the door handle pad, with two holes for the screws that fix the handle to the door. I thought it might reinforce the door skin on the inside, reducing stress on the sheet metal when opening the door.

My couple does not have these pieces either and I doubt very much that the PO removed them. I had the car since 72. To tell the truth, I never noticed them in the parts book.

Now I understand what we are talking about. No my car does not have one, but what I did do was to install a thin rubber gasket between the door handle and the outer door skin. It is trimmed to fit ,is not easily visable and give a "cushion" between the door and the handle ....when used. Not absolutely sure if it was worth the effort to install it but ...what the heck,it couldn't hurt. Gordon
