MG MGA - coupe side window frame
Is there a gasket or packing strip under the coupe vent window frame, where it touches the upper part of the door? I don't see anything in the SPL or suppliers catalogs. Thanks, George |

The 3 different sets of doors I took apart had something that had hardened up almost like plummers putty. Guess what I used ;) |

Thanks Gary, yes, that could work. I have another question - Does the extended part of the bracket that attaches to the lower part of the door go to the inside, or the outside, of the window frame legs? Its hard to tell when everything is loose while trial fitting. And, those brackets do not show up in the SPL book. Thanks, George |

I'll have to check some old doors to see George it was 30 years ago! |

George give me a bit I checked my extra doors and frames, none are together. Maybe I can see down inside my doors,I can check tommorow. |

Gary, thanks again! |

George I cannot see down into the door and I see your right they are not in the book. My gut feeling is that they go on the outside so that they bolt up to the flat side of the channel. If they went on the inside I would think they would be bent from tighting on to the open part of the channel. |

Thanks Gary. I'll give the outside a try, your logic makes sense. Thanks for your help. |

George, mine had some black sealer that had hardened, I used black silicone, which is hidden by the chrome trim. Andy |
