MG MGA - Danish MG calender 2008

I've just finished the Danish MG calender for 2008 - it is running from Feb. to Feb.

I've made it together with a guy named Dave Nicholas, as you can read in the calender if you download it from:

I'm the editor for the Danish MG-magazine and for years I've wanted to make a calender with old racingpictures - and when I stumbled over some on the internet, I wrote to Dave, and we made this!

This is great! Good work. All of the pictures were taken 10 years before I was born but I have spent many days driving at Watkins Glen and Lime Rock and I was born and raised in Binghamton NY - just like the Barc Boys.

How can I buy a copy?

For those of you who don't know who Dave Nicholas is, he is a part of MGA racing history along with his band of brothers - The BARC Boy. Check out their web site...

Some of these famous BARC boys are traveling to California to do battle with the West Coast MG Gang March 14-15 at Laguna Seca. Over 50 racing MGs in what is to be the largest West Coast MG race in history.

I also grew up (and live) in the Binghamton area and recently did a video of charter BARC members discussing that era. I'm working on a DVD of that interview.

Not a word was spoken about a battle at Laguna Seca. Although we talked about a reunion at Watkins Glen in the Fall. I will investigate. If true, I'll be there...

Not to be picky but there is one error in the calendar. John Fitch was not the original owner of Lime Rock. In fact, I dont think John Fitch was ever an owner of the track but he was the general manager for a stretch.

The land was owned by Jim Vail and he built the track. He started by just driving old cars around his property and eventually wore a dirt road. He later paved it and started the track - 50 years ago.

I have been to tracks all over the US and none are more beautiful than Lime Rock. It's a real treasure.

Oh, its happening. Maybe the best kept secret in MG history. Its really more of an insiders/racing event but if you know the right folks, you can get entry into the paddock. This is a non spectator event. If you want to make the trip, we will find you access to the pits. The Flying Shingle R1 and R2 will be there... Ronnie Bucknums son, Jeff, Hollywood Sport Cars and on and on... its going to be very special.
