MG MGA - Dashboard Wiring
I am installing a new harness on my 1500 following the charts and color codes from Barney's site. All went well until today when I find that, in the dash sub harness, I have 2 brown/black wires when I only expected one. One obviously goes to the horn but where does the other go? Dan |

The other end of the same wire should have a bullet end. That goes into a snap connector to connect it to another browN/Black wire in the main harness (going to the horn). It is the only wire end in the dash harness that is not connected to something on the dash. See here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/electric/et100b.htm |

Barney, I knew you would have the answer. I must have missed this drawing when I printed the set earlier. Many thanks Dan |

Dan I just finished a complete harness installation on my 1600. I found Barney's site to be extremely useful as you did. Be careful when wiring the license plate light. It is easy to mix up the ground and power connectors which will cause all sorts of gremlins to pop up when you start checking continuity and/or apply voltage to the system (at least I did not burn up my harness though it did get a little warm before I noticed it!) The other rear light connections are pretty straight forward as is the rest of the harness installation. Just take your time. Good luck. Don Carlberg |

Dan, Earlier I sent a message to your email address, abarton@clayfinlay.com I got the message bounced back; is this an old email address for you? Dennis |
Dennis Suski |
Dennis, Yes I retired and changed my email. It is now arthur.barton@comcast.net Thanks, Dan (also known as arthur!) |
