MG MGA - David Speak's MGA

I have just read an article about this car in MG Enthusiasts mag. I would like to ask him a couple of questions about his engine. Does anyone have contact details for him? I can't get the details from the mag because its contact section just steers me to FAQs.

When I had a similar query a year or two back I emailed the editor to forward it on to the author. We got in touch within 24 hours.

Just email the Editor, and he will pass the request on. I was interested in what wire wheels they were, as they looked different...sure were, from an MGC!
Gary Lock

thanks Steve and Gary but my problem is they don't give an address for the editor to email.

HL

I went to their website ( http://www.mgenthusiast.com/ ) and hit the Contact Us tab. Simon Goldsworthy is the editor. If you click on his name you come up with an email address of mg.ed@kelseypb.co.uk

Thanks Steve the mistake I made was choosing one of ther options.

No problem. the world wide web is as its name suggests a tangle of threads that has no ends. I spend half my time steering my wife through the websites. Some of the links you see, some you miss. As Robert the Bruce found out with his spider, if you at first don't succeed, try, try, try again, then ask someone else. Which is what you did.

For Gary Lock. David Speak says he got his wheels from MGC wheels. They are 5 1/2 in size enabling him to use 185 tyres which he says is a good improvement.
H L Davy

HL Davy...thanks, but who are MGC Wheels?....can't find them listed anywhere. Can you give me a lead up?
Gary Lock

HDL, just a further thought, and as you have been in contact with David Speak, can you ask if the standard MGA wire wheel hubs were used.
Thanks, Gary
Gary Lock

Hi Guys.
MGC wheels are what were fitted to an MGC. ie. 15" x 5.5J These will fit on standard MGA hubs, which is exactly what I have done. Best wishes for 2015.

Seem to recall that the MGC wheels were 60 spoke wheels as opposed to the MGA 48 spokes.
John Bray

No, MGC wheels are 72 spoke. The standard MGA wheel was 48, but a 60 spoke version was available too.
