MG MGA - Different wire wheels
I've come across a wire wheel that I've not seen before. The one at the top is nothing like the style I'm used to seeing, the hub and spinner are a bit odd. The one at the bottom is like what I'm familiar with and like the ones on my TD. Anyone know what the story is on this model? Is the large hub covering lug nuts? Thanks.. .... ![]() |

Unusual spinner also. Better photos wiil help identify. What model car are they on? MGA wheels use the Rudge-Whitworth centre lock system. They maybe Borrani (italy) or Rudge (german) who both make different style wire wheels. Mike |

It would be nice to see it from farther back. The wheel looks too small to be 15". |

These are from ads for "A"s that are (were) for sale. I'm just educating myself as to the options that I'm likely to see along the way to purchase. |

They could possibly be Zenith wheels. They used a serrated disc mating between wheel and a bolt on adaptor rather than the common Rudge spline. http://www.wirewheelking.com/home |

The top photo looks like a wire wheel conversion which covers the lugs, as per this photo of one such unit. The knock-off is interesting however. Can you make out what the engravings are on the knock off?

Not my photo so I can't do much with it, but I see it as being stamped "Left Side" upside down. Really ugly place to stamp that. ..... |

Looks like a bolt-on wire wheel to me. |
