MG MGA - door seals on MGA coupe

Hi,

Our MGA is running smooth. We're having lots of fun with it. I have a couple of seals for which I;m not clear how they should be installed. (see attached image). There are 2 rubber part. Once is a flat strip, then there is a strip in the shape of a 'P' in cross section. and there is a shaped piece. (and the same for the other side.
Does anyone have a picture of how it should be installed?

Btw. It is an MGA coupe: www.mgacoupe.nl

Paul, the item number 121.225 (Weather strip, inner) is a complete waste of money....it is nothing like the original, and send it back for a refund, which I did. Todd Clarke carries the correct part, which is actually a brush-like material that clips on. Anglo Parts will sell you anything at hugely inflated prices.

Paul,
I have attached an illustration that shows the two seals I think you are talking about. The seal that Gary is talking about that Todd Clarke supplies is the "fur flex" door seal that goes all the way around the door openings. I think the ones you are referring to are #33 & 34 in the illustration. The Todd Clarke door seal is #30. Seals 33 & 34 were apparently only used in coupes. Seal 33 is available from several suppliers and a substitute for seal 34 is available in the shape that you describe as a "P" but no one has seal 34 as it is shown in the attached illustration. Mark Wellard has been working on this extensively and finally found someone with an original seal #34. I'll post a picture of it when I find it.

Paul,
As I indicated previously, Mark Wellard from Australia has located someone that has an actual sample of an original seal along with a drawing he made detailing the dimensions of the seal. I have also attached a copy of this drawing and here is a link to pictures of an actual original seal. Jim, no it's not the furflex seal. Todd also supplies a brush strip for the inner door that the glass rubs on. This is ONLY available from him, and the Anglo rubbish piece (their number 121.225) is only a strip of rubber.
Gary Lock

Gary,
Sorry. I didn't know you were talking about the piece that rubs against the door glass. That's good to know since I will be needing those pieces in the next few months.
