MG MGA - FA or FP keys
Here is one for the originality experts and enthusiats: Was the FA typ key ever used in the early MGA"s ingnition? I found one reference that it was in the archives and recently witnessed an early June 1956 built MGA with an FA key. Many folks say that only the FP key was used in the MGA, and the parts books show only one part number for the keys and the ignition lock barrel set. Does anyone know? Does anyone car? This is great fun! |

James, My 1600 (Circa 1961) key is FA. But it is an original Australian CKD car - so may be different. The plot thickens! Barry |

My 1962 MK-II has a FP key. The spare was still attached by the screw on the heater box when I got the car in 2000. |

My 1962 MkII has an FP key. I know for certain this is the original ignition switch. |

My 1961 MkII is FS (if we all find our cars stolen, we know who to blame) |

James, Am I right in thinking you are also installing a 3.5 V8 in your A - is it on the road yet? I'd be interested to hear about your progress and swap V8 install stories. |
