MG MGA - Floor Board Screws - Washer in Stainless?
I long since gave up on zinc plates unf screws to hold in the wooden floors, as they always rust. Stainless screws are the way to go. Cup Washer part # - ACA5374 Moss is charging £0.60 each for zinc plated washers. B&G is charging £0.60 each for S/S washers http://www.ukmgparts.com/product.aspx?CID=&SID=&PID=49f843ae-0aca-47df-85a3-ba31cb3faf95 What's the correct description for these, so I can hunt them down on eBay. As it's no longer "Cup Washer" as per the service parts list S.P.L? Cheers Mark |

several suppliers/manufacturers still list them as cup washer BW |

Also known as finish or finishing washers. Cheers - Dave |

Alas not Dave, these are not the same as MGA and will dig into the wood. Closest I can find on eBay is: "flanged countersunk washer boat stainless" 100 for £8 plus postage but they are 5/32 size not 1/4, so ever so slightly bigger Cheers Mark |

Most marine stores have a great selection of stainless fasteners. |

I may be mistaken, but I always knew these as "Tinnerman" washers. Edward |

Many Thanks Edward. Tinnerman or "Dimple" Washers seems to be the correct description to search eBay but alas I don't see them in stainless Steel. I'll keep looking. Cheers Mark |

You can get nickle on brass, which will not rust.... These folks have it: http://www.restorationspecialties.com/Products.html |

When threading stainless and regular carbon steel together, always use an anti-seize lubricant to prevent the softer stainless from galling, FYI. -Del |

Good advice Del, I certainly use a lot of copper slip these days. Plus there is little load on bolts used to secure wood. Cheers Mark |
