Damn you Aussies with your sunshine and fun! If I wasn't half a world away, I'd say count me in. Have a great time, Grant :-) PS I suppose a BBQ is one way to get some Ashes ;-) |

We had to cancel our MG club one in Wales last weekend - gales and pouring rain - what happened to the summer in UK ?. |

As a Scot I have been known to travel great distances for free beer and food, unfortunately this time it is a bit far. It is the week before the IAA (German motor show) and 2 weeks before the Goodwood revival so at least there are some other events to blag free food at!! This weekend is also the Brussels Beer festival so I can't really complain? Neil |

How much can I eat and drink? Might be worth the plane fair! |

David, I may get there, but later as i have to work. I went past your shop two weeks ago and saw your A there. Can you post an image of your door for others to see. Is this event part of the Gold Coast club. David. |

David, I used Google satellite to have a look at 241 (sad or what?) before making the decision to fly over. -its a parking lot!! No grass or swimming pool or eucalyptus trees. This is a budget enterprise! -thanks for the offer but I may not come. |

"PS I suppose a BBQ is one way to get some Ashes" Now Grant, why do you think you English members have been invited? Just what do you imagine they will be burning as fuel? (lol) |

Hi Guys Have just returned from Speed on Tweed - Around the Houses sprint - (for the foreigners...) and have just got around to reading your comments. Of course there will be Ashes, as there will be drop-dead-gorgeous girls, but the action will definately be the array of beautiful British Classic Sports cars... , meeting Mark Boldry and the Bulletin's motoring editor doing the rounds and taking the pictures! Trev - wish you could come, and Dave Lake - hope to catch up with you and your beautiful "A" too. Others, we are having the best weather on the Gold Coast ever!!! 12C at night; 25C in the day time and no clouds to see... Tough to take... Regards, Dave |

Hi JC Thought I would send you an up-to-date pic of our new workshop - just incase I can encourage you to visit us in sunny Queensland... Dave ![]() |

Neat shop! I thought it was winter down there! Russ |
Russ Carnes |
Russ, You are correct -- it IS winter!! Barry |
BM Gannon |
Maybe Winter in the southern Oz states (down Mexico way!), but here in Queensland, what Winter! Jeez, we even have to chill our red wine. |
Gary Lock |
Dave, You cretainly held a great event last night. The number of MGs, Healys and other British and Australian classics was impressive. It looks to be a great workshop and im sure he will do well. David also has a huge trophy and memorabilia shelf with lots to look at. I was going to take some photos but got involved with talking, beer and sausages. |
DJ Lake |
Thanks Dave I will post a few pics as soon as I work out how to do it! The quality and quantity of the cars (and people) was well above expectation - thanks to all that came to share the experience. We are planning another "bash" for late Nov so there is time for the overseas chaps could make a plan? Dave |

Sorry I have taken so long to get back to you. The evening was fantastic with 22 MG's, Healey's and Triumph's attending - the beer, pizzas and snags were good too... Welcome Mark and Anita - the winners of our Second Best Job in the World competition! Dave and Laurel Godwin ![]() |
