MG MGA - Front Cross Member repair progress

I thought some of the readers here might find the repair I am attempting on my frame interesting. I posted it over on a different forum, because it's easier to post images over there than it is here (though I find the level of technical discussion here to be a little better):

Go the whole hog and put a B cross member, coil over shockers and king pin.

Actually fitting an MGB front crossmember (and therefore the full front MGB suspension) is quite easy and cheap to do. Did it many years ago on my modified car and it works fine. Done by a local rodding shop who had a chassis jig and do this sort of thing all the time. In fact they thought it was one of the easiest conversions they had done at the time. You can now sell the tired old MGA suspension to a purist who is worried about the correct shade of black on his suspension arm mounting bolts and with the money you get buy all new MGB suspension bits!!...but you will have destroyed the originality for ever...not to mention not having the correct coloured suspension bolts :)

Could this not be fitted to the MGA without changing the cross-member? Seems to me it wouldn't take much to do and MGA version.

1. Not on my father's MG.

2. I am a lot more likely to retain the correct chassis geometry if I repair the existing cross member, than if I attempt to cut it out, and graft in an entirely new one.

3. I have never found the standard suspension to be deficient in any way. Other than studs stripping out, of course.

Just an update. I completed the repair to this portion of my frame, and uploaded pictures into the linked thread on the other forum, in case anyone here is interested in seeing how I did it. When the car goes back together the only evidence of the repair will be the pictures I have taken.
