MG MGA - Grille piping

Trying to fit the grille piping. Got it looking pretty good on the top and sides, but cannot get it tight enough to stay in place at the bottom. I'm considering leaving it out at the bottom. The piping is only about 3/8" wide with a groove in the middle, so it won't stay flat unless quite tight.
I believe Steve Gyles said he had glued his on, but I don't see how I could do that with what I have (Moss).
The front clip is in good shape, no previous damage.

Originally it was not fitted along the bottom. After going round the lower radius it was trapped between grill and body an inch or so along.

Glueing with standard UHU transparent cement worked perfectly for mine, and allows me to remove the grille without having to fiddle with piping afterwards

OK Neil, so I'll be "original"!

Dominic, How long have you had your piping stuck down with UHU? I used cyanoacrylate on mine several months ago and I think it's starting to lift - I don't think it's waterproof.................Mike

I have had the UHU on the grille piping for about two years as I remember, it still holds just fine. Like Mike I had tried cynoacrylate too, which was hard to get to stick even at the beginning and only lasted a couple of weeks.

As Art mentions, I have my piping stuck to the grill. I went on Dominic's advice and used UHU. I have not found it to be a perfect adhesive for the job, but sufficient to hold the piping in place while offering the grill up to the shroud. After that it is helped by being clamped into place like the original. Once the grill was fitted in place on the shroud I cleaned off all visible sign of the glue.

Certainly made the fitting job easier for me but it was a longer process as I only glued the piping in short sections, then had to leave to dry for a few hours before doing the next section.
