MG MGA - GT-38?

Haven't seen it mentioned here, but next week is the GT-38 , in Asheville, N.C....
It starts on Sunday night, and goes through Thursday...
Weather permitting, I'm planning on driving over on Wednesday morning, as there will be a British car gathering and show from 9a.m. to 12p.m.
There will be some vendors there, including (but not limited to), Scarborough Faire...
It's at the Asheville, N.C. Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Anyone else planning on going?

Ed,

Myself in at BRG coupe, a friend (Frazer Rice) in a light blue roadster and another (Cliff Hughes) in a Magnette will be there. We're trailering from Louisiana and Mississippi - will get there Sunday morning/afternoon. Look us up - I'll do likewise.

Hope I can make it, to meet you folks. Weather is the big consideration for me, as my side curtains are "side-lined" for now.

I'm actually en-route now in my OEW 1500 roadster along with fellow club members in another 1500, a TF, and a Magnette. We left Ottawa yesterday morning and spent the night in Sayre, PA. Tonights stop is Strasburg, VA, then Sunday night in Hillsville, VA. Should arrive in Asheville early Monday afternoon. See you there.

Wow! And I'm worried about weather on a two hour excursion! You guys are my heroes.

Went to Asheville today, for the MGA show....
Very impressive ....looked like a couple of hundred cars.
Many from all over the country.
Here's a long shot

It's a great show. We were there in Dayton last year, and hope to make it for GT-40, wherever it is!
Gary Lock

We were there...sorry we didn't get to meet up with you face to face.

Just got home from Asheville, about 800 miles in two days. It was a great event, with about 150 MGAs and Magnettes. Great time driving the Blueridge Parkway, including a major climb to Mt. Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi.

Total of about 2,000 miles for the trip, including a good trial of the newly installed bilge fan to cure vapor lock. Two hours of stop-and-go in 80+ degree heat coming home through Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens without a stutter.

Do you have a few shots of the fan?
Thanks

George,

I used Barney's writeup as a guide, found here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/carbs/cb208b.htm

Same Attwood 3000 Turbo blower came from Wal-Mart that he used, wired down the air duct and operated by the foglight switch. The noise is less than I expected, but then again I'm losing my high freq hearing :)

Here are a couple of pictures.

Second picture...

I used a foam insulation I found at Ace Hardware - originally intended for sealing a cap to a pickup bed.

Now that I know it really works, I will push is down the air duct further to make it essentially invisible.

Oops, I meant "Edward", not "George" in my earlier post!
