MG MGA - Hemostat - what's dat?
These slender, locking pliers originally developed by the medical fraternity are one of the most useful items you can add to your MGA tool box. They can hold stuff where you cannot get your fingers, a normal spanner or clamp. See photo of my most recent use. (And they are so cheap!) http://www.harborfreight.com/10-1-2-half-inch-jumbo-curved-clamp-65711.html Are there any other unusual tools being used to maintain your MGA? Mike ![]() |

Mike..a useful tool. an extra hand....and I will be after one for my toolbox. Do you know anywhere ..apart from a medical equipment shop ..that sells here down under? Methinks this bit of surgery looking kit was original designed for getting hold of a HEMOrrhoids and holding them STATic whilst operation performed. Prefer your pic to pic of that .... |

Dental tools are invaluable. I always ask the dentist for any broken tools that he is looking to get rid of. Cheers - Dave |

Neil, Try country second-hand shops and markets or maybe a friendly nurse! There are plenty on Ebay but not as cheap as Harbor Freight. http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=hemostat&_sacat=0&_from=R40 I find the longer units 10-12" the most useful. Mike |

Keeping in line with Mike's theme, two of my very useful tools are an extendible mirror and an extendible light with a magnetic tip. I also find a camera invaluable. For areas I cannot see, I position the camera at whatever angle is required, take the snapshot, then study the picture to work out what is what. Steve ![]() |

David I too find medical tools a great addition to my toolbox but am curious to know how Washington dentists manage to break their gear, must hurt the victim a bit. Jim |
