MG MGA - Hood Frame Colour ?
Hi Guys, Could someone tell me what shade of beige paint I should buy to repaint an old rusty hood frame please? I could not find this info on Barney's site: http://www.mgaguru.com/mgtech/top/top108b.htm Cheers Mark |

Thanks Andy, I knew Barney would not let me down... It's just a matter of where to look.. Is the moss paint the correct colour thought? Thanks again. Mark |

Mark, The Moss color seems very close to me; it matched perfectly the unfaded original paint on my frame found under the wind buffer covering the second rib. |

Started the cleaning and sanding of my top frame today. See, your thread got me out to the garage. I noticed weld spots on some of the ribs that are broken. Are these necessary or are the screws enough? |
David Holmes |
That's a good question David! I would think that the fact they are broken suggests that there is some strain on the joint and maybe the screws will come loose. That said, I assume it has stayed in one piece until now! Anyway, seeing as the are going to paint it, it would seem like a good idea to fix the welds! But I am guessing that if you had a welder handy, you wouldn't need to ask the question? |

Speaking of hood frames, does anyone have an extra one. I am trying to bring a 58 roadster back from the crusher and need top bows. Thanks and have a good day! John |

John - there is one on ebay UK at the moment - listing number 230553158537 - only got 1 day to go. |
