MG MGA - Interior Hardware

Does anyone have a listing or know of a listing for the interior hardware screws for the MGA? What type and where they go?

I ask because I ordered the complete set from Moss, but the PO of my car used the "if a screw fits" approach and very few are original or the type they should be.

In the case of the panel screws I can easily identify what goes where, but there are many in the 132 piece kit that I have no idea what they are for.

I don't have access to a restored "A" for reference and I've called Moss and they do not have a listing for the contents of this kit.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

They are standard screws and cup washers that you can buy in a hardware store. Otherwise use the fastener list here http://www.clancy.ch/Library.html

Dominic,

What a great site and resource!

Thanks very much this is exactly what I was needing.

Christopher, I think I can narrow down the list on Dominic's web site. I have the kit, Moss number 321-958, and it contains a list of the location for each fastener. Curiously, the list has the notation (C.S.R.) which suggests it came from Clarke Spares and Restorations. I buy from both suppliers, perhaps the Moss kit is sourced from CSR, maybe I mixed things up in my inventory. Anyway, if interested, I can fax you this, you can call me, I can e-mail the info, etc. Contact me off line.

For what it's worth, I highly recommend Clark Spares restoration booklet (as well as his parts, in general). A wealth of info for the MGA. Marv Stuart

George, -- I'd like a copy if that list. Moss Motors had recently been increasing the number of product information sheets being posted on their web site, so maybe they'll get around to this one soon. Meanwhile I might post it on my web site with some arrangement showing which fasteners go with which panels (as I have done with windscreen fasteners).

Barney, I sent you the listing...

On line now. See here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/interior/int103b.htm

Thanks Barney (and Clarke Spares).
Is there an equivalent list for the Coupe? If this has to be compiled, or can be supplied by CSR, could I suggest that the application is listed first, followed by the fastener description. (The logical way users will refer to the list)

Just FYI folks, the list and what I got from Moss doesn't match.

I'll take a picture of the contents of the set, but it doesn't contain 131 pieces and it also doesn't contain all the different types of fastener listed on the document.

It would be great if it did, but so far, things are not matching up.

Christopher, that's a bummer. Perhaps what I originally posted is what happened. I have a contents list from CSR in the bin with the Moss part number. Now, do I have Moss hardware in the bin, or CSR hardware...?
