MG MGA - Johnathan Stein--I have a question

Tina at Autobooks in CA suggested I contact you with this question:

I recently purchased a 1960 MGA 1600 Coupe racecar,OEW, VIN GHDL 96654. I’m trying track down its history. The person I bought it from purchased it at a MECUM auction in Lime Rock CT in 2000. It had the race number 416 which he changed to 419.

Via the Internet I was sent information that shows a MGA 1600 with the number 416 was raced in California in 1962, entered and driven by a Bonnie Anthony from Las Vegas. No picture of the car, no indication if it was coupe or not. Could not find any info about Ms. Anthony racing. It's done both VSCCA and SVRA. The info I have indicates the car raced at the LA Fairgrounds. Apparently her husband also raced. May have raced at other locations in CA.

NAMGAR gave me the following info:
The car with the Vin Number GHDL 96654 is registered with NAMGAR as an unassigned car ( not assigned to a current member ) # 0058. The the last member registered with the car was in Schenectady, NY no Zip, no phone, no date of notice for sale of car. Before that it was in Howes Cave, NY 12092. Date NAMGAR notified of end of ownership 11/09/1991.

Wait! You need to find a guy in the Tustin, CA, area named Jim Parkinson. He is in his 80s now but was a BMC dealer and active MG racer. He was on the Works Sebring team in 1960 and other years. I am traveling so I don't have more info with me. He may still own a Nissan dealership on the area. Good luck.

Anyone who may know of Mr. Parkinson, please contact me.
