MG MGA - MGA 4.3 diff wanted

Looking for a good MGA 4.3 diff to fit to my 1950TD I am currently in South Africa
Thanks
R J Orchard

R J if you are desperate I can source a NEW one from a Sydney dealer - I think about Au$1250 - postage could be steep!

I have a 4.3 diff that was professionally rebuilt and is in perfect order. It was originally intended for installation in a concourse Twin Cam, which was sold before the installation of the rebuilt diff.
I too would have thought the postage cost to South Africa would be prohibitively expensive, but let me know if you are interested.

I sold one to a local person for his TF. I asked for what he did not need for the change over and I got back the housing with the bearings and spider gears. It looks to me that all he needed was the ring and pinion. I think your best bet would be to find someone to take one apart and just ship to you what you need. The shipping cost for the whole pumkin would be too high. I shippped a heater to a person in SA and the shipping was too high so I sent it to his sister in USA who took it home when she went. When I get around to changing my 4.3 to the 3.9 I will have one for sale but when that will be is anyones guess. I have seen them on ebay a number of times. I know to change the ring and pinion is very involved. The person I sold one to did it himself with help from his father but it looked to me to be beyond my ability.

In south africa you may have better luck searching for a Morris Oxford diff, or one of the Farina variants.

Hi R J,

Moss Europe sells a new crown wheel & Pinion for around £400. If this is not out of the way, or if you can find one on Ebay UK I would be willing to carry the pair to Jo'burg in Jan/Feb when I visit on business. An entire Diff assembly would be a bit heavy for my baggage allowance though.
