MG MGA - MGA boot hole blanking panel

Hello Team,
Can anyone steer me towards a template for a boot hole blanking panel. I wish to blank off the hole for security when I go on hols to Classic Le Mans. I'll also be putting a boot lock mod on with the MGB golvebox lock mod.

Put your spare wheel in the hole and clamp it down - no one will get past that! Is this the hole you are talking about?

Thanks for the feedback Mike.

I don't want to carry the spare wheel anymore. I need the space for camping gear. Hence I'm looking to put a blanking plate in position. I can then lock my expensive camera and other things in the boot and will have good insurance cover as it is in an enclosed and locked space.
Hope anyone can help on the template or link to it on the net.

You are best to make your own template to be sure it fits your car. Get a piece of MDF board that is roughly the size- drill and bolt to the diaphragm using a couple of holes - then drill out all the holes using original diaphragm holes as a template. Mark out the slot size on the MDF and add a margin that you are comfortable with. Remove the MDF board and you have a template to make a steel or aluminum blanking plate. Bolt into place.

Can't help you with the template. However, for the boot locking using the MGB or similar lock this is what I did: http://www.mgaroadster.co.uk/lockable_boot.htm

I have mentioned in the wording that it is important to use a lock with a cranked operating arm.

Thanks for your help with this. I'll be making a template, but thought someone has been here before me and probably had even published one alike the carpet templates, floor board templates etc.
