MG MGA - MGA Coupe door lock
I have nearly completed the restoration of my coupe. I have keys and the tumbler for my door but my barrel was destroyed. Where can I find a replacement?!!! |

MG likely obtained them from the same supplier that made them for Jag, Healy, Triumph, etc. I needed one in '74. A Brit car garage picked one out of a door from who knows what out behind the shop. It fit just fine. |

That's a good tip. There are a couple MG garages here to contact. |

Thanks Gary! That's great! I have been told by a fairly knowledgeable source that the lock and key assembly for the glove box for the 1962-1967 MGB will also work. I am hopeful it will work and even if it does I will probably want a spare! |

Hey Gary! Thanks! I should receive the MGB part any day now and will let you know if/how it works. Just in case...I'll send you my address. |

UPDATE: It turns out the glove box lock assembly & key (163-520) for the 1962-1967 MGB is an exact fit for the MGA Coupe door. It is installed and working great! |
