MG MGA - MGA drawing artist?

All,
I can't remember if I asked this before or not...yikes!
Anyway, I have this lovely print of a line drawing that shows an MGA roadster parked on grass with a coupe in an adjacent parking lot parked perpendicular to the roadster. The roadster has wire wheels, the coupe has disk wheels. There are a pair of birds on the ground near the front of the roadster. Behind the cars there are a pair of stairways leading up to an ornate buiding that has 5 arched entryways.
This drawing is serialized (115/350) and appears to have an original artist's signature in pencil in addition to the artist's signature on the print that is followed by '97. Try as I might I can't figure out the artist's name. I'm not even sure it is written in English. Does anyone else have one of these? Does anyone recognize this? It's beautiful and I love it, and I'd sure like to know who did it, where and why. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Gerry

Gerry -
You gotta pitchur?

Asked that because I thought someone might recognize it - probably not me. However, feeble brains cells say there is a well known automotive artist who does such in/near Rochester, and I have seen his stuff, from someone on this board. Z Magnette comes to mind, or try on the T side. Still wouldn't mind da pitchur!

Yes, I know that picture Gerry. I have print #94/350 hanging on the wall in my office. Sorry but I can't make out the artists name either.
Andy Bounsall

Fletcher,
I could photograph it, or perhaps scan it in and post it here.

Andy,
Where and when did you get yours? I bought mine from an Art vendor at Watkins Glen a few years back. Didn't realize it was serialized until a couple of weeks ago.
Cheers,

Gerry, I bought it at the Stowe British Invaision last fall...from LBCarCo I think.

I think the artist is Steve Petrosky...or somthing like that he is from Ohio and the site is a park in I think Cinci. ......I have a copy that I bought from him at the Mid-Ohio Vintage Grand Prix where he often sets up a booth. Try this web link. http://www.driversroad.com/artwork.html
He also has really nice painting of the LeMans MGA.

Hope this helps you...Tom

I got this original drawing 23 years ago. It is by G.E.Geivett. Steve shows a similar print on his MG nuts web site. http://www.mgnuts.com/artwork/sketch/
I just tried to find anything online from him and could not. Is he still alive? or in business? is his art still avaiable?

My Name is Steve Petrosky, the artist that did the black and white print mentioned. I did that piece many years ago when I got back into doing more "fine" art rather than the commercial art I do. since that time I have added many more drawings and paintings to my body of work and they can found on my website<www.driversroad.com> I also do some traveling to varous racing events throughout the year to sell my work, Mostly at Mid-Ohio, the Glen, Road American and Atlanta. and I am getting ready to go to sebring.

It is always good to hear that people are enjoying a piece I did especially many years after I did the piece. Thank you Tom for letting me know
that I was a topic on this site.

Thank you and I'll see you at the races!

steve.

I looked over my post and saw that I did not address the questions from Mr. Foster.

Who was the artist?

Steven T. Petrosky, please call me Steve, I did a piece of a bunch of Group 44 Triumphs that I got Bob Tullius to sign a few years ago. While spending the afternoon with him he mentioned that he takes the time to sign is name legibly as a measure of gratefullness. It made sense to me and I am trying to follow that thought.

When/why was it done? The print was done in the mid to late 90's in pen and ink and I had an edition of 350 printed, It was not done for an event but just a piece that "came together". The building in the background if of the pavilion at Ault Park, in Cincinnati. It is a great park and we have our Concours D' Elegance there every year in June.

Steve,
Thank you for the answers!
Man I love this web site...

I am curious though, why does you post show up as Thomas Koch?

Cheers, and thanks again.

That's because Tom sent Steven the site URL while Tom was signed in. Your info is coded in the URL under that circumstance.

I have print #64/350. Bought it at a car show in Virginia. Being a black and white, I used color pencils to color in. I have an MGA Roadster and MGA Coupe, so colored them to match my collection. I really like this picture and have it framed and hanging. I have not seen anyone else with one. Yes, the artist name does appear to be Steve L. Pitrosky '97. I know nothing of the artist or print. I wished we had more artists depicting MGA's.

Steve, I got excited with the original post regarding this piece of art and replied before reading all the posts. Good to hear from you. I have often wondered what the building in the background was. I treasure this print. Thank you so much for this fine work.
