MG MGA - MGA handbrake lever. Moss pt. # 181-490 Need one
This is the piece that mounts on the splined shaft at the base of the handbrake handle. The cable attaches to its lower end. If anyone has one to sell, it would be appreciated. I am in Virginia. Thank you! |

John if you're looking for the "operating lever", part #14 in the attached pic, there were only two vendors which stocked this part as new: NTG and Limora. NTG now lists it as "no longer available" and Limora states: "Our purchasing department is working on this item. Please contact us to receive a quotation or more information." If you don't find a good used part, Limora may be a source for a newly manufactured unit; good luck.

Hey John. Where are you in Virginia? I’m about 30 miles west of Richmond. You should try Geoff Rogers at Rogers Motors in Shutesbury, MA. https://jollyrogersmotors.com/ And Cecelia Bruce at Scarborough Faire. 401-724-4200 Jim |

Add one more unavailable piece: the top bracket for the wiper motor. Mine is rusted beyond use. It is Moss # 471-105. I hope someone has a spare for sale. Thanks, Jack |

Hi JL, I hope this is the right way to respond - I haven't used the BBS before for communication: I am in Rockbridge County, just west of the Blue Ridge. Thanks for the two suggestions! I'll try them both. Also will check with Jim Swenson at British Car Service in Powhatan. Thanks! |

Thanks Barney, It is a simple part. I considered reproducing it in some aluminum I have, and if the thickness is not a problem I may do that. But available would be helpful too. Jack |

MGOC is offering the complete handbrake lever assembly AAH5229 for £180. MGOCspares.co.uk. |

JL, and others:
Thanks for all the suggestions. I am surprised and happy to find that Scarborough Faire is alive and well! I had the impression they were now part of Moss. They carry used parts as well as new and I found that both of the no-longer-available parts I need are in their inventory, very reasonable. Their system is old-fashioned - no online sales. You call or email with the order. Very simple and efficient. I had forgotten, but am a renewed customer. Thanks again for the advice, Jack in Virginia |

My apologies to Scarborough Faire! Many of you knew what I mistook - VB, not SF, was absorbed by Moss. SF seems like a great source and nice, helpful folks, too. |
