MG MGA - MGA in Midsummer Murders

We got excited about the 3 seconds of an A in a recent Endeavour. Last night ITV3 showed a repeat of the first episode of Midsommer with th 'new DI Barnaby'. The point is it featured a selection of classic cars inculuding a blue 1600 A which not only got quite a lot of air time but was key to A murder. A track rod end had been sawn nearly through.

There are some other fabulous classic including a well prewar Alvis sports that is use do smuggle drugs.

Another continuity point is that when shown first the Alvis has white instruments but later they are black. Also I am sure the starting handle was much shorter in the first scene, but perhaps it needed to be longer to serve as a murder weapon. After the guy was squashed into the wall his body looked rather bizarre having a handle sticking out at 90 degrees.

I thought it quite amusing how quickly the pathologist removed the trackrod end with his medical kit at the scene of the crash! Perhaps I am keeping the wrong tools in my garage. Also, that soft rough ground was not conducive to getting under the car without a substantial garage trolley jack. The King Dick B1077 would not have done the trick.

Has anyone seen the Masters and Johnson episode where they both drive up to their house in what appears to be an English White MGA with those horrid little tonneau spikes along the tops of the doors? It's on Showtime.

Going back to Paul's opener, I am just watching Donald Campbell:Speed King on BBC4. In one scene Donald welcomes American Craig Breedlove into his house. Breedlove had just become the fast man on land. Outside the window is a white MGA Roadster with its hood up.
