MG MGA - MGA's Across Aus.

Traveling across the Nullabor Plain from Melbourne (East) to Perth (West Aus.) last week and met Mike Ellesmore, Rob Wilson and their fair ladies.

These intripid folk took their cars across to Perth for the MG National meeting over Easter and had stopped for a coffee at a remote roadhouse on way home when I spotted them.

That's a long haul (Mike can tell us how many Kms.)

Mr. Gyles, look at the windscreen! Rob may tell us more about his interesting car.

Cheers, Barry

3430km each way. Well done guys. That's dedication for an MG meet.

That windscreen is a nicer profile than mine. Time to get my saw out! Thanks for the email update of your journey Barry.

Nice to catch up with Barry unexpectedly. We weren't alone in making the trip across Oz there were big contingents from Queenland and Tasmania (includes 9 hour ferry trip). There are some great photos of the event on the MGCC Victoria Facebook and web sites plus the Perth Natmeet website.
Next year we are off to Adelaide SA and following year to north coast of Tasmania (Easter weekend). International visitors are most welcome - this year we had a couple of "to and froms" plus the regulars from Hawaii and Doug and Yani from Bali (those on the Lejog run will remember Doug and Derek in the white MGA).

After MGA 60 LE-JoG last September we were so impressed with the Australian contingent that we just had to join their NATMEET in Perth WA., just 3 hours flying from Bali.
Awesome Meeting at the Ascot Racecourse, friendly folk, 2 great Runs, the Kimber and Observation; huge contingent from the East coast, some driving from Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania. And a Post-Natmeet tour down the south-west to Albany, sunshine all the way.
Mike here is a nice shot, proud to be a Victorian!

Here's to Adelaide 2017!

Cheers,

Doug

Special thanks to Tony Ford, President MGCC Western Australia for kindly loaning us his beautiful MGA Mark II De-luxe, MK2DLUX, driven by Tony on MGA 60 LE-Jog.

Rob Wilson with his superb MGA and racing windscreen, leaving the Concours with protective measures, a little damp that day, the only rain of the whole Natmeet, this MG was also on MGA 60 in UK.

First Aussie Natmeet, not the last!
