MG MGA - MGCC (Victoria) A Register award to the MGAguru

The MGA Register of the MGCC (Victoria) have recently decided to publically thank Barney Gaylord for the great work he has done on compiling and continually improving the MGAguru web site.

"Barney please accepted our new grille badge and lapel pin as a token of our appreciation for your great work in making life easier for enthusiasts preserving and driving MGAs worldwide - MGCC (Victoria) MGA Register committee".

(Barney - the badges are in the post so it may take awhile to get Napeville, IL. - 15,489 kms (9,624 Mi) from Melbourne)

Congradulations Barney. When people ask who restored my MGA I tell them I did it myself, with a lot of help from Barney Gaylord! Your web site helped me in all phases of my project. Couldn't have done it nearly as well without your help.

Congradulations Barney!!!
Three years ago the only thing I knew about cars was filling up the gastank. Then I bought and rusty MGA and I started to restore it.Now I have a rolling chassis and a restored body ready to be painted.99% of the info came from the gurusite.Especialy the info about the replacement of the sills.Without it I never could have done it myself.
Thanks and keep on the good work!

I would also like to add myself to the list of people that have had great help from the site and echo all of the above gratitude, many thanks, Vin

MGAGuru was one of the main reasons to buy an MGA and not another classic!
It will probably keep up the residual value of these cars!
Well done!
Gonzalo Ramos

Gonzalo speaks the truth. I hung on the cusp between a TR-4 and an MGA until I came across mgaguru.com. That proved decisive in my purchase. I don't know how else I could manage this hobby without Barney's great contribution to it. You Victorians chose well, Mike!

For me Barney gives that higher level information that is virtually unobtainable anywhere else and if he doesn't know the full answer he always states this.

Thanks from us all Barney, your site continues to help with everything new I attempt on my "A". You didn't know it, but I recently fitted a nice new hood and revamped the indicator switch with your help. I recommend your site all the time to MGA owners.

rpb bunch from Massachusets in his post about wiper motor drive cables has just said in about 15 words what everyone on this forum thinks about Barneys MGAguru website.
I quote:- "Thanks Barney". I wish I had a nickel for everytime I have said/thought that....!"

Well that sums it up for me too

Thanks Barney!

Barney's site is definitely the first place I look when I am starting a project on my MGA. When Barney and the manual disagree, my money is on Barney.

When I restored my MGA not very long ago, Barney's site was slapped on my computer 24 hours a day seven days a week. I did not refer to any workshop manuals, and neither did I seek advice from any well established professional mechanics. Today the car is near perfect, although there are one or two other things which I need to fix in the not too distant future, the gearbox is one of them. I am not a seasoned mechanic, far from it, but today I am proud to say that my mechanical knowledge of mga's (thanks to Mr.Gaylord), besides giving me endless satisfaction, has also saved me huge amounts of money. I wish to publicly thank Mr.Gaylord and congratulate him for all his efforts and hard work.
