MG MGA - Minutiae...
Owned my car since 1989 and finally got fed up with twiddling the end of the small dia rod that sets the tripmeter on the tachometer.. Does any one know what thread it is ...better still where to get the wee end knob? |

Try Rod O'Malley at MG Sales 08 83460888. They open at 11am I think. |

Unless you have an unusual tachometer I guess you mean the odometer trip. It's a fairly safe bet it is BA thread and if the stalk is 1/8" diameter, which it looks like, then it's probably 5BA..................Mike |

Neil On my speedo the shaft protrudes from the case and is drilled through. A tiny split pin connects a steel tube to the shaft and the steel tube had a plastic knob on the end. No thread is visible and the repair must have been done with the shaft removed from the speedo. An alternative approach would be to go the tube route and stick it over the thread with superglue, saves dismantling the speedo. Cheers Dave |

Thanks to all for various suggestions...having a look I see there is no thread so the original knob must have been held on by a grub or similar. I will probably go the glue route. Mike ..you are of course right re tachometer.... |
