MG MGA - More engine pulling advice....please.

Hopefully pulling the engine alone this week....Do I need to remove the oil cooler, or will it clear?
Thanks
Edward

If the oil cooler is fitted on the front apron, then yes. The front pulley and sump will just clear the bonnet catch strip, and the top of the gear box will just clear the tunnel. Remember to remove the gearbox dip stick before you start.
An adjustable engine hoist tilter is a great help.

I am not pulling the gearbox, as mentioned....
Not sure if this makes a difference.
Thanks

If the oil cooler is 1" ahead of the radiator as factory prescribed, then it can stay put during engine R&R.

Thank you Barney....Will check the distance today....

Sorry - my post was not clear. When I said "yes", I meant the engine would clear it, not that you had to remove the cooler. Sorry for that - two questions and only one answer was confusing.
