MG MGA - Mystery wood steering wheel

Some years ago I was given the wood rim steeing wheel in the attached pictures

I recently unearthed it from the depths of my garage and am going to see if it will fit on my MGA 1500. it doesnt have a center cap cover and was wondering if anyone had any idea what type of wheel this is and where I could get a cap from.

help greatly appreciated.

Cheers, rick

Looks like a Moto-Lita

I don’t think it is a Moto-Lita. My Moto-Lita has the name written is script on one of the spokes. Also the center has a larger center hole with a number of smaller ones around the circumference.

Looks like a Jaguar E-Type.

Is it 15" or 16" diameter?

No idea, but.. ..Kevan Mitton in Arizona has one the same (and I don't think that was ever identified):

Looks like the original boss (centre cap) didn't last too well!

This is the same design on the Holden Vintage website (part number 090.061). Listed as E-Type: http://www.holden.co.uk

Mystery solved. Following up on the info you gave me, led me here http://mk1-performance-conversions.co.uk/steering_wheel_archive.htm
and to the attached picture - it appears my wheel is a 15" Formula.
Now I just need to find where I can get an MG boss/center cap for it.

Rick, I had a 1965 SAAB Monte Carlo 850 with a wooden wheel like that. I sold the wheel when I parted out the car. Maybe this is it?:)

Harley,
If you sold the wheel on ebay, it may well be that it was yours. i'm pretty sure it was bought off ebay.
