MG MGA - Need Ford T-9 Drive shaft

I have a Ford T-9 (5 speed) for my MGA, everything but the drive shaft. Have had the transmission and rest of the kit for over a month. It was promised two weeks ago but not delivered. The Vendor I bought from is not returning calls or e-mails for help. Any thoughts about where I could get one, or at least the correct spline to have a drive shaft made? Anybody know what the length should be? I will try contacting Autogear in England to see if they can help. Wanted this box in the car for the Reno trip. Damn....

I'd just call Peter Gamble and ask him to send you one asap. I am sure he will help with tech info if you want to get it made locally.

Dominic,
How do I contact Peter Gamble? I tried contacting autogear.co.uk (which is what the instructions list) but it says the web page can't be found. There is a phone number, 01268 711 089, that I haven't tried. Can't recall what the time difference is between US EST and UK.
Thanks,
Gerry

Thank you Steve.
I did find that in the archives.
Will try to contact Jim Hall in Florida to see if he can advise. Interesting that the installation manual clearly says Autogear (Transmissions) LTD and provides an address, phone and fax, none of which line up with the Hi-Gear info. Did this somehow change? My info was in the kit I got a few weeks ago.

Gerry, I'm certain that any competant local driveshaft shop can modify the existing MGA shaft as necessary or build a new one from scratch. They can tell you how to measure what you have so the length comes out right. Shouldn't take more than a week turn around.

Gerry,

this is the place to get gearbox parts:

they supply those little kit cars in GB.

Why not try John Esposito at Quantumechanics. Phone:203-459-9612. He's here in Connecticut and can most likely help you out with the drive shaft.
David Werblow

Guys,
I really appreciate the responses.
Dave, John at Quantum Mechanics is who I am dealing with. The good news is that the drive shaft is supposed to arrive in the US on Wednesday. I have to say that Jim Hall at MG 5 Speed was very helpful and offered to send me an MGB drive shaft for the T9 that I could get modified to fit the A. A local machine shop said they could do it in an afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will arrive. Apparently, with the Royal Wedding and Easter Holiday things in England came to a standstill.
