MG MGA - New Top Price For A Shelley LJ225 Jack
Just for your info: An E-Type version of the Shelley LJ225 jack supplied with later MGAs has just sold for $710 (£461). The E-Type variant has the same body, but with a 3-stage screw (MGA has 2), a different handle yoke and a cube jacking point. Picture attached. Steve ![]() |

Steve..Looks like a basic screw jack to my plebian eye but obviously also a late art deco work of art. This guy will have to put it in a glass case with a dehumidifier on his mantlepiece. He has moved from shares to bonds to gold and now is preserving his wealth by investing in deco screw jacks. |

OMG - what a daft price - time to start collecting!! |

I think the cost-per-gramme record still has to be the Judson gauges that go for 500 US or more when they come along |

What I did not mention is that the Canadian vendor asked $83 (£56) postage (Canadian Express Post). To me that sounds a bit on the high side. I package those sort of weights by courier within the UK for $10 (£7.50). Steve |

As they say "try to find another one." I've got an early E-type without the jack and this is the first one I've seen in years. |
